Dark cloudy morning W. wind. Rutherford called while we were eating breakfast. Makes batch yeast. Snider stopped an hour or two in P.M. having been at Mattoon. Wils Goodman buys a cord of wood. Rutherford Bros. call at night to see about going down to timber. It began to snow about dark. about an inch fell. Dark cloudy day with SW wind. Sat up reading till 12 oclock Wrote to Uri.
21. Wednesday. 7 AM. Ther. 32. 35. 22.
Clear. Fresh NW wind. Tue made the fire. About an inch of snow fell on the ground this morning. Clayton (?) me for Glump wood 1.50. Sell half cord to man with hay rack, also i/2 to Ike Fisher. Hat was down in afternoon. Cold raw day, strong W. wind, freezing in shade all day. Growing colder in afternoon. Cover up hot bed with carpets. Gobed 9.30

20. Friday. 6.30. AM. Ther. 32. 42. 28. =34
Clear. S.W. 2. ice 1/8. Whalen's deliver load Linton washed not ordered yesterday. 2,760 lbs. Bert's Helen called on her way home for holidays. Tue feeling badly all day but keeps at work ~~ get card from Muggs.I did not hitch up. Clear day S.W. wind. Philips her(sic) calls for sign petition for natural gas mains on 6th St. didn't sign. Cold raw wind. Had hope to go to Loxa. gobed 9.

Raining since about 4 AM. Wind E. Tue bakes bread first time in a week or more. Help her make some yeast. Girls took their dinner to school. We did not get any. Self got sick smoking. Light rain all day till nearly 4 P.M. when wind changed to W. or N.W. and grew colder till bed time. Father killed and picked two chickens at night. Mrs. Rogers sent word that she could not come and wash till Thursday. Maggie spilled lot of water in front room at night.. Gobed 9.30 P.M.
