6.  Tuesday. 6.30 AM.  Ther.  30.  38.  30.  = 32 2/3

Cloudy. W.2.  We have breakfast about 9.  Tue ironing.  Harman Calls AM. bring small piece of meat. 3 1/2 lbs.   Paid 300.00 ck on pasture &c rent.  Was in a hurry so did not settle.  Mail papers to Muggs.  Tue got a card from Kate yest.  Duvall's folks are moving from Mrs. Hawley's house back of us on 4th.  Gus and Helen called at night on way to show at Opera H.  Tue writes again to Mary and Addie.  Mr Prest Lord's daughter will sail on same steamer - the Adriatic next Saturday.  Cloudy day with moderate westerly winds.  Alfred sold us a rabbit this morn which Tue cooks for dinner.  Tue over at Groves at night  Gobed 9

Cloudy day, fog.  S.W.2. It soon clears off and first clear day for weeks.  Read and sleep mostly AM.  Can't account for drowsiness unless quitting tobacco.  Went up to  2nd National Bank and deposit Harman's check 300.00  Pay note at bank due in day or two.  Collect 1.50 at Paynes error in settling.  Tue  and Phebe both out P.M.  Alfred came.  Tue attended prayer Meet with Mrs. Brooks night.  Mostly clear day and at night: fresh southwind.  Gobed 9

6.  Sunday.  7  AM.  ther.  34.  45?  34.

Cloudy N wind.  Baby cried good deal in night with supposed colic.  Cloudy all day Tue and girls went over to Kate Myers toward night.  Put up box in barn for pigeons.  Let mare out in lot and she jumped over in garden.  roads are getting pretty solid but there is not much (?) hauling being done.  Gobed 9.30 PM

7.  Monday.  6.30 AM.  Ther.  28.  45.  35.  Clear.  wind S.W. Heavy white frost.   Eleven Decker hauls me two loads of corn.  Took mare after dinner and drive down to Walker Ford crossed river which came in bottom of buggy.  The  roads are not so good as I thought  got home just before dark and took washing down to Mrs. Rogers.  Owins pd me for  logs brought up last summer.  Got couple of small botls.    9 PM

Jim Chapman was buried today.

Part cloudy.  E.3.  Hatton came before 7 AM. working all day.  Fix trellis for grapevines that formerly ran on our old house.  In P.M. he spades site of old building and will come tomorrow.  Rhoda sends word can't wash is sick.  I did  not hitch up and felt poorly all day.  John Grove married tonight.  Gus and Helen in to wedding.  Thunder and threatening 5 PM. showers round light sprinkle here.  Lightning at night and sps Fair day SE 3.  Gobed 9.30

Mostly cloudy,  S.3.  Only trace of rain last night.  Bill worked AM. and pay him up $3.75 for 25th today.  I  drove up town AM get linseed oil at Payne's.  Stop and talk with Jake Daisy.  He has been sick in bed.  Mrs. Sparks washes for Tue and works at other jobs P.M. all day pay ck. 1.50.  I have felt worse than usual all day.  Mostly cloudy all day and thunder at times.  Sprinkles several times P.M. and cooler.  Tue got pretty tired today and retires earlier than usual 9.

Most cloudy N.3.  Tue ironed AM.  I did not hitch up till noon.  Somewhat threatening at times but no rain; hear reports of shower around yesterday.  Drove up town toward night for bushel oats.  Cloudy chilly day cloudy with fresh NW wind.  No rain.  It is very dry with no prospect of rain.  Gobed. 9.30  E. Part cloudy.  W. 5. light wh fr No ice.  It clears off and  and remains  with strong southerly wind.  Tue gets letter from Muggs.  Didn't hitch up.  Went up to Brown's for shave (pd.) Went on up to  Paynes Pd. account to date 1.85.  P.B. Linn called P.M. and pay him Andrews Brothers, Mattoon a/c for lumber and roofing 43.65.  This is stuff for shed which Harman got last Aug. 29.  Linn used to work for J.B&JB Hill in grocery along win the 70's.  Alfred came doing chores and visiting.  Pay him 1.00 overpaid 20c.  Buddy got box from Reasors today for herself and Charles.  Get calender and almanacs at Payne's.  Mrs. Coon called P.M.  Mort and Kate  were over at night. Mort has been sick for week or so.  Tues cold continues pretty bad but round all day as usual.

Mostly cloudy and soon because entirely so.  Fast S.E. wind.  Phebe very restless in night, btu seems  brighter this morning.  Tue has not made much headway in weaning Marie.  Her teeth  are so bad she does not like to stop her at once.  Sell J.P.Case 2 Bbl apples.  F Moffett 1 Bbl leaving only 4 Bbl all Russetts.  Wright took  thric (sic) of these and took others self.  Gray brought them home and put in cellar about dark.  This ends the apple transaction.  Began snowing about 9 A.M. continuing most of the day with strong wind from S.E.  Between 2 and 3 inches, till turning to sleet at night growing warm and raining before morning.  Phebe feeling pretty bad at night thought of sending for Dr. but didn't.  Paid up Minton  & Sons in full 6.22.  Gobed 11 PM.  Tue ironing.

Mostly cloudy.  there was strong N. wind much of night.  Change must have occurred about midnight.  Hitch up early  and start out to find painter and plasterer.  Buy qt. can paint at IBriggs .60 cr.  get turpentine .25c cr. at Paynes.    Met Jack Jefferies.  He does not advise me to sell Perkins lot at present.  I drove down 7th St to Guiney house and West on Polk to J Hatton's without accomplishing anything.  Try same trip P.M. with some result.  Mrs. Bell over for pears.  Tue getting rid of them to neighbors.  think 4 or 5 bu left on trees.  Tue gets letter from Phebe (also from Kate) seems well satisfied with her pasish (sic).  Tue looked for Muggs tonight and went to 8 PM train but she didn't come.  Mostly clear with strong North wind.  gobed 9 P.M.
