Cloudy and raining Every thing covered with ice think it rained all night freezing as it fell wind N.E.  Fred Rodnies went away last night to Seattle  Did not pay up.  The ice remains on trees &c all day making it very disagreeable getting around.  Trade very light.  Girls went to school took their dinner.  Pay up McConnell $23.20  Cloudy day N. wind W. at night  Go bed 11 P.M.

Clear, fresh W. wind  Ice melts good deal in sun but not much in shade clear day W wind.  Dull.  Hyman drummer here.  Got letter from A. Freeberg offering to sell whiskey ( B & L) for 2.55.  Switchman on R.R. Killed last night (?)  on Faster left tonight.  Self not very well at night Belly Ache  Gobed 10.30  PM~~

Mostly clear but clears over by 9 AM and sprinkles rain PM and night wind S to W .  Sent  Wky Receipt Ahe Freiberg.  Buy sack flour at Bill Hills.  Most of sleet melts today  Trade very dull No trade from country.  Cloudy day.  W. wind at night, gobed 12.30

  Cloudy.  wind SW.  Thought of killing(?)  kid today but H.G. would not help.  Too warm anyhow  Masons have big supper &c at night.  Figure up account of money spent in past year by self  Mrs. Perrill and Mrs. Latta call at night.  The  epidemic La Grippe has made its appearance.  hear Dad Wentz is first case I have seen  Gobed  11.30

Cloudy and somewhat foggy.  N.E. wind.  I hitch up and go to train for Clara but got there too late.  Mail letter with Tue's check to R.S. Hodgen for 105.00 interest on note.  This  pays up all interest  to Jany 1.  I sent over lot of papers &c trying to clean up things in den.  Self feeling badly all day.  think have grip which is quit the fad now.  Have not milked the cow since Saturday  She had been giving only a teacup of milk  Dark cloudy day with east wind.  Gobed  9 P.M.

8.  Tuesday. 6 am.  Ther  45.  58.  44.  =  39.

Cloudy Southwind.  Very damp and growing warmer  Went up town before breakfast.  Mail couple of letters.  Think have grip and feeling poorly all day;  Clara washed windows, silling (sic) and kitchen P.M.  and went with friend down to see Daisy at night.  Pakens at Mike Millers P.M. Maggie to party at Seftons at night. Mostly dark damp damp day Easterly wind sprinkle rain several times, Showers at night.  Gobed  9.30 PM.

Cloudy wind   Rear  and sleet, not freezing however.  Youngen Lloyds  wash AM.  Clara thinks she will wash next week.  Fix shelf in back part of pantry, near floor.  Took Mrs.  Mrs. Grove and Tue over to Priscilla Club at GB Griffins P.M. and went over after them 4.30 PM.  Streets except pave very muddy and getting worse.  Wind swung clear round today landing in S. at night with rising temp.  Ther rose 12 degs from 5 P.M.  to 9.30 PM.  Played crokonole with Marie at night.  Heavy  showers after dark.  Frost all out of ground.  Gobed 930 PM.

Cloudy.  West wind.  Clara ironing.  Call at Campbells A.M.  Vally has new camera, Mrs. Sue Calhou(?) called after dinner  Call got out today and into barn.  Marie's club met here P.M.  having refreshments about 5 P.M.  Surprise party of guests met here about 9 P.M. going up to Switows to supper  Maggie was in it getting home late in night.  Clara went to Loxa an 9.05 train to see uncle to return in morning  Cloudy day variable winds.  I sat in basement till bedtime  10 P.M.

Cloudy  and raining S.E.2.  Mrs. Bell died early A.M.  Rain ceasing.  Tue decides to go to church getting R.H. on the way.  It quit raining and I intended to hitch up and take a drive about 2 PM. but heavy showers occasionally stop me.  the wind got southerly with some thunder about 4 P.M. to 6 P.M.  Grove's folks over a while P.M. till thunder starts then home.  This is one of my bad days and think am taking the grippe.  Stiff neck all day Pains in chest &c.  Gobed 9.30  Clear at 9

The Weather &c for November 1913

Daily mean temperature 50.  58. Max 76 on 22nd  Minimum 20 on 11th. Clouds 52%  Precipitation all rain 4.59 falling on 18 days, Winds N. 3 2/3 :  NE 2/3:  E 2 2/3:  SE 3 1/3:  S. 13:  S.W. 3 2/3:  W. 1/3:  and N.W. 2 1/3 days.  Much of corn crop is shucked about  half crop of inferior corn in this section.  It sells at elevators 55 to 60 cents.  Clover hay 17,00 per ton:  Fat hogs say 7.50  Eggs 35.  I am feeding straw and corn.    The grass is green and heavier than at any time last spring or summer.  The recent rains have not raised the streams to any great extant.  The scarcity of water which was serious in October has disappeared.   Fungi are growing but only a few.  The forecasts of Weather Bureau are for this type of weather indefinitely.  This continues to be a remarkable year.  The average temp. about ten degrees higher than 1910 and 1911 and six degrees above 1912.  there was near an inch of ice Nov. 20 A.M.

Cloudy W.2. fog.  My neck rheumatiz (sic) &c no better- worse.  Tue and Mrs. Grove were over at Bell's A.M.  the funeral at 2.30.  Young Geo Hampton calls for about fourth time for some old lumber.  He has not bought any of me yet Says Miller is at home.  Pay Siberts bill AM 2.15  I hitch up about noon.  Deposit these checks 338.20 at 2nd Natl. Drove out far as Huffman's.  The roads are very muddy - sloppy.  I felt poorly all day.  Leave mare at Nickle's.  They are not using their new barn as yet.  Cloudy foggy day light northerly winds  go bed.9.

Cloudy and damp light NW wind  Ch. working all day in corn crib  Easters haul load of wood to Guresey and takes Taffart his third load from yard.  Tue rents house in E. part of town to Mrs. Lee Brown at 1.20 per week payable weekly in advance.  Abe Workman calls to see about making ties.  Father ate dinner down at A.G.'s  Tue went over to F. Knocks toward night.  Cloudy all day, few snow flakes in forenoon  Gobed 8.30 PM  Put up stove up stairs.
