25.  Wednesday.  6.30 AM.  Ther  30.  36.  10.
Cloudy.  Wind SW. light snow flying Maggie and Phebe both went to school.  Phebe has not been since 9th  inst. Pay off men for piling ties yesterday $4.30.  Comer up and working at ties, am going to let him finish them.  Ed Eastin pays me balance on note.  12.30 releasing mortgage on lot. Cleared off before noon: wind W.  Tue  got letter from Aunt Mate.  Went down to tie pile after dinner.  Strong wind from N.W.  Snow melting fast.  Pay winter bal 13.36 Recketts 15.00 both in full.  Caught more cold and laid up at nights with sore throat.  Maggie has very bad cough.  Turns colder toward night.  Gobed.  10 P.M.

26  Thursday.  7 AM  ther 2.  22. 20.
Clear NW.  Maggie and Phebe don't go to school.  My throat some better this morning.  Worst cold I have had for two years.  Sell Ike Hughes half cord of wood.  Somebody hauled load of new posts to yard 52. probably Riley Eastin.  Comer finished stacking ties.  I have been out $6.50 on this job.  Recketts took clock up to shop and repaired case.  Bought Gelatin and glycerin.. N. Main returned borrowed book by Sexhres.  Hat was down toward night.  Pleasant day get chilly with westerly wind.  Maggie and Phebe both have bad colds.  Gobed 10PM~~


January Paid McKee1.25 and Sandy .45 for Comer for work done yesterday.

27.  Friday.  6.30 AM.  Ther 14.  29.  26.
Nearly clear.  Wind North.  Undertake to make a copying pad but fail.  Tue sewing on dark dress for her mother.  Maggie and Phebe still remain from school   their colds not being any better.  Went down to switch ties and put Comer's on each pile according Bruner's instruction.  Tue writes a letter to Aunt Mate at night.  Has been pleasant day,  clear with chilly north wind.  Gobed 11 PM

28.  Saturday  7 AM.  Ther.  14.  32.  24.
Nearly clear.  Wind easterly.  Baby cried good deal in night and coughed like croup.  R.R. Browne of Helena, Ark in town   A.Bunk pd. a/c in full $1.65.  Uncle in and down to dinner. seems to think Snider biz. in pretty bad shape.  Comer in before noon.  The R.R. man did not receive ties up again Monday.  Bought  1 lb coffee at Vansickles.  Sold  half cord of wood to C. Mason Cr.    Total eclipse of moon in evening.  The roads are still good and lots of wood coming in.  Gobed.  10 PM  Pay Riley Eastin for 105 posts $3.25.

Cloudy N.1.  Fred Cottingham calls with bill for plumbing &c. 75.88.  He calls again after dinner and pay him check.  He made small repair at W.C. P.M.  Tue went to R.C. at Dr. Iknyan's 2 P.M.  Helen Ferrish calls P.M.  but didn't stay long.  One Rennells son of Edmund came wanting to rent Loxa farm.  Roy did not come early as usual.  Part clear day variable winds.  Part cloudy day with moderate northerly winds.  Tue and Phebe attend show - Madame Sherry  at night.  Finn and Ora were to supper.  Gobed 9

24.  Tuesday.  6.30 AM.  Ther  10.  31.  28.

Clear wind S.E.  Savely and McKee went to work at ties about 8 A.M. working  till 6 P.M.  Sam Goodrich and other fellow began at 9 we got up 4 set.  Comer men work from, 10 AM till 5.30 P.M.  I got pretty well tired out and went home after dark about sick.  Didn't sleep much last night on account of Tue and baby both complaining.  Bob Brown brought up 50 old posts fore which I pay him in full $1.00  Al. Prevo calls for flask which I promised him.  He and Caleb Ferris start for  Alabama tomorrow.  Ed Eastin told me to bring up my  note and he will pay balance due:  it is 1232 to date .  Got a  letter from L.G  Fract Ferndale California asking me for an affidavit in regard to disability.  Gobed 9 P.M.  Tue better.  Helen went home today has been  here since Sat Jany14.

15.  Sunday.  7 AM.  Ther.  38.54.  36.  = 42 2/3
Clear. S.W. 3.  Tue attended the Rardin funeral and church AM getting R.H.  I straighten up books and papers.  Sort over  lot of old papers at barn.  They have been soaking in shed for several months ~~  About  4 P.M. I drove S.W. past hog farm returning by Tom Phipps place.  Would have gone farther but lost Jack.  I got home 5 P. he followed in about an hour.  Tue was over to Groves a while at night.  Clear day, moderate S.W. wind becoming westerly.  The roads are fine and smooth becoming dusty.  Hildreth and friend call us up about 11 PM to stay the night.  They were on their way from Loxa to the Normal which they are attending.  Go bed 9.

Went down to ties about 8 AM.  Crass does not show himself today.  Comer came about 10 AM.  Get  McKee and Savaley to help.  Comer has got  himself very much mixed up in length after and think about half of them will want sawing off.  We all quit at 4 P.M.  having got out of lengths.  Cloudy day wind W.N.W.  and fine snow flying most of forenoon.  Ther. stood little below freezing.  Went up to barber shop in evening.  We only piled about 120 ties.  Go bed  9.30 P.M.
