Clear mostly S.1.  Parker came 9 A and worked most of day repairing back porch.  Paid in full ck 1.75.  Plew was here much  of time but only to gas.  Will employ Parker to roof barn at farm soon.  Phebe young lady friend from Clinton.  I drove S.W. toward night.  Ira Snider's daughter rode a piece with me.  Tue and girls away till bed time.  Tom Knock rode to town gave me a young squirrel  which I prepare for breakfast.  Part clear light variable winds.  Sprinkles rain at dark and after (.02)  I felt poorly all day.  Mort Grove reported some Cuting.  Gobed 9.30 P.  Mrs. Reasor called P.M.  She lives at Hindsboro.

Thursday, June 5, 1887.  6 AM.  Ther. 60. 70. 53.

Cloudy considerable rain in night.  Have big mess  mushrooms for breakfast.  Young came to set out bushes, but too wet.  Write out bonds and petitions for license, but don't suppose there is any chance.  Sign H.G.'s bond for supervisor.  Council meets at night and work late.  Tue still very sore throat.  Mostly cloudy day and growing cooler.  11 P,M,

Saturday, May 18, 1912  5.30 AM.  Ther. 48, 76, 62 = 62

Clear S.W.2  Get sickle sharpened and would have gone to cemetery could I have found Emmett.  Met John Simons on S side with two loads wood.  I tool Ellen to 1.20 PM Cloverleaf train.  She is going  to Bushton* for the coming week.  Tue up town and at Groves most of PM.  Mrs. G is quite poorly and is trying an osteopath Dr. Barnes.  Shave self P.M.  The Walker trial jury disagree at nine for conviction,  putting the case off til Oct. court.  The rats have again got good start at barn.  I have trapped five of them this week.  Clear day with brisk S.W. wind.  There was a runaway on front street P.M. - little girl in buggy.  No one hurt.  Tue was over at Groves till after 9. Gobed 9.30

Foggy .  Went up to Anderson's for Osage.  Young has not got his well dug yet.  Tried to get Crass to help about carpets but he is helping Alex Richter move building.  Tue making herself a sunbonnet.  JOW. asks for accomodations (sic), which he gets.  They have an election PM to decide whether to build a new school House in place of Eastern S.H. condemned the S.H. carried by a large majority.  The street gang moved the pile of rocks in front of my store.  They have been there since last fall.  Go bed 10 PM

Clear, W.1. Emmit came amd worked all day. He went with me up town A.M. taking lot of stuff to Rummage Sale (this is underlined) for Tue. Tue and Ellen paint floor S. Chamber. Tue hires King to do dining room. Emmett gets mad P.M. but thinks recovers; works all day and takes home load of old cloth. T & E taking up matting E. room P.M. Tue went over to Brooks' a while at night. the Dr. is better. We slept in north room Ellen in hW. Mostly clear westerly winds. Gobed 9 P.M.

Sunday, April 24, 1887 7 A.M. Ther. 43, 55, 43. Clear N.W. wind. Had intended to go to the timber today but too cold. The girls did not go to Sunday School. but clouded over in afternoon and rained a little. Baby not very well all day. Gobed 10 P.M.
