Part cloudy. E.2.  Hatton didn't come as agreed.  Self feeling poorly; am much worried about garden.  Hitch up AM.  Take Tue down to McCravys PM. later she went to Hat's.  I drove S.E. of town a while.  The  roads dry  Many of streets quite rough.  I felt so bad all day didn't care to do anything.  We get letter from Phebe.  She sent two records in box but there was but one when received.  Tue is  fretting about her washing.  Can find no one to do it.  Most cloudy with light N.E. winds.  Go bed 9

Mostly cloudy. N.1.  Bill did not appear.  Tue gets Warman girl to help clean out tanks.  I drove to "Andersonville" to look for Steve Decker.  Zett said he had moved to country  quite  lately.  I get two pounds "lawn" grass seed at I.B.M's. 50 c Cr.  got  half bu corn there yesterday.  they are charging full price for things this season.  Tue and self plant some lettuce and radish P.M: trim vines.  Helen was in AM bring some buttermilk.  Tue  got a letter from Buddy.  she and Charley had been exposed to diphtheria but thought danger was past.  Drive over to see Hatton at Joe's.  Bill is working for Latta.  Jo will work for me tomorrow.  I kept on west crossing at Latta and Green bridges and down nearly to Mat Brown's.  I got  home 6 P.M.  Most clear NW2.  All roads are dry.  Streams getting low for season.  Tue went to church night - BMP (?)  Go bed 10 P

Cloudy.  Easterly wind.  chilly day.  Clean up some seed in stable to take to woods  Tue chickens from Ds all went back this morning.  Cloudy day and very dry strong  east wind.  Peaches are mostly in full bloom  garden stuff not growing much.  Have very little planted.  Prohibition meetings are being held at churches.  Go bed 10 PM

Clear east wind NOt feeling very well.  Up town most of forenoon.  There is considerable interest in the election tomorrow both on the license question and politically.  General impression seems to be that it will close all round.  The liquor men are not trying to do anything.  After dinner drove with Tue out to Uncle John's: found him burning brush.  Tue and I drove up to N. end of farm.  Uncle J. gave us some potatoes and 20 or thirty pounds of  pork.  Roads dry and dusty, got home sunset.  Milt Drake was up, his family went down Saturday.  John Rice's boy got dangerously scalded this PM at slaughter house.  Went up to Cancin(?) at night.   Gobed 10 PM

Clear, E.1. We get letter from Phebe AM detailing her trip to Havana last week.  It took her two days and one night to complete the trip.  Tue wrote Muggs, Mail check to the C.I.P.S.Co. for 3.34 last month's light. ~  Disagreeable day,.  Mostly cloudy light varible winds; began snowing about 4 P.m. about an inch of light snow fell.  Tue  went up to I.B.M.s to see Mrs. Frank McCravey and then  to Mrs. Nickols and Mrs. Heebs neither of whom was at home.  Later she spent an hour or two at Groves getting home before 6.  The snow was from SW.  It   quit about dark.  There is a lot of old snow and ice on ground in big spots.  Gobed 8.45

Heavy fog N.E. wind.  Maggie went to S. School.  Learn that Tom Stoddert died last night.   He had been sick since last fall.  Geo Sefton's baby was buried this afternoon.  Wrote Simon Sturin ordering renewal 300 ins on whiskey expiring Mar 7.    Write letter to W.H. White accepting bill for switch ties (?) set if can have plenty (?).  Wrote letter to  D. Baughman , Oak Pt. Ill inquiring about lot near R.R.  Mostly cloudy day with N. Easterly wind clears away at night.  Tue went to church with Mrs. Davis.  Gobed 9.30 PM

Clear.  N.8.  White Frost.  No ice.  Ray did not come as expected and had to carry up coal ourselves.  Look over some old papers &c. A.M.  Tue went over plantsthing(sic) me what she didn't want me to do.  I got my mare 10 A.M.  but did not use her till after dinner. 1.30 P.M.   start out to settle with some of my  creditors.  Mare too foxy so don't drive near the depot.  Met Al Latta cor Div. and Madison where he has rooms.  I drove out by fairground up by John R. Hills to town there west to  Popham road then south to R.R. and home.  Most of the farmers up that way are clearing out their pastures especially buck brush.   Note  Dr. Pattons, Sodderts and Popham's.  They have cut most of trees and brush and plowed the ground.  We get another letter from tenant Oakley at Loxa needing repairs &c.  on house.  Order balehay (sic) bu oats from I.B.M. P.M.  Have had mare at Nickles service last Thursday night.  Gob 8.30

Clear and  pleasant day.  Driving round 4th ward in forenoon trying to connect up hold list.    Good many in town P.M.  Bert called while eating dinner.  Pay Rutherford 1.25 PM.  W. Decker 9.45 for wood cut @ 60.  Still owe him 6.00 (?) having cut 40 3/4 cord.  Comer in wants me to come down and divide lumber.  The "Citizens" convention in 1st. ward nominate W.H. French to run against M. White Rep.   Politics talked a good deal on streets today.  Went up to French Davis office at night to take poll book.  Settle with Bill Meyers for ham bought last week.  Meyers says he will work Monday.  Talk for license a good deal mixed .  Go bed 10 PM.

Mostly clear.  N..W.  2.  Tue phoned for R.H. which they delivered.  Tue did not attend church.  She  roasted big piece of salt pork for dinner.  She is talking  of going down to  to Mt. Carmel  this week after  the young men get out which is promised tomorrow.  Mrs. Curd calls P.M. till near night also Mort and Katie.  Mr. Law stopped in sitting room while at night.  Ray did not come till quite late.  Part clear day with high N.W. wind and near freezing much of day.  Self feeling poorly. Most clear S.E.2.  Tue straightening up Lee and Law room.  They got out today .  Law owes 4.35 and 7.35.  Tue gets letter from Buddy the first for two or three weeks.  Cliff Harman calls P.M. and will get chimney top for farm at Geo. Shriver.  I decide to get my clover seed of IBM.  Will sow about 60 acres.  Cliff wants to buy  west 80 of place; but have known this for long time.  Ray picks up in front some.  Mostly clear day with strong SE to Southerly wind.  I have felt but poorly.  Tue went with Mrs. Brooks to a spelling contest at night leaving me alone.  Gobed10.

Mostly clear SW 1 heavy white frost ice 1/4 in.  Tue feeling poorly.  She worked hard all yest. going to R.C. PM. and to show with Phebe at night till 11 P.M.  no wonder.  Somebody called  "New Lee" just after I got up.~~The weather is fair today clear with light SW wind.  Tue went calling P.M.  I undertake to repair her ironing table but make rough job of same.    Mostly clear day and I might have taken long drive but am afraid of the roads and somewhat of mare since her long rest.  Order 1Bu corn I.B.M. at night.  Go bed 9

Mostly clear, red early. S.2. light white frost.  Think no frost in ground.  Tue and Phebe attend church A.M.  I hitch up mare AM.  for first time in more than three weeks.  Drove S.W. to S.W. cor. city limits.  Gravel roads mushy.  Other roads look very bad Most clear day strong Southwest winds getting NW after dark and colder.  Ora here night.  Ray helps me unhitch at night.  I got home 12.30 P.M.  too chilly for me to drive P.M. Gobed 10.

Part clear N.N.W. 3.  ice 3/16.  The furnace grate is balking again.  It takes an hour or two this morn to loosen it up.  2 keys for front door sent  for 17th inst recd this morn.  Tue and Phebe washing things with gasoline today, after which Tue  went over to Mrs. Brooks' returning about dark.  Much clear with northwesterly light winds.  Ora here at night sewing with Phebe.  They moved machine into E. Chamber P.M.  Self not so well.  Have been eating too heartely (sic).  Gobed 10 P.M.

Cloudy and snowing.  S.W.1  I began to snow about 7 AM from S.W. covering ground in few moments.  I did not sleep much ona/c of hearty supper.  Phebe gets letter from M. & D.  Ann Arbor Mich.  Pay telephone for Dec. 1.50 . Gasoline wash still continues Phebe is preparing to go to Ann Arbor again.  She will go by way of Chicago stopping there a while.  It snowed this morn a while; when it ceased wind shifted to north remaining there then.  Cloudy day.  Then up to 42 at 10 AM but down to 30 at noon most clear night.  Gobed 9

Clear. N.W.1.  white frost. Emmett comes and workes (sic) till 5 P.M.  Pay him up to date 3.00 check.  raked leaves much of the time.  Tue thinks he sojers  too much.  Get Tucker men to patch cellar floor they finish after dinner.  Get I.B.M. check 16.30 clover seed from Harman cashed, have been carrying it a week.  Harry Thatcher fixed cellar.  Clear day strong westerly or northern winds.  Maggie gets card from Miss Wales.  She will meet her in St. Louis 18th inst.  Tue and Muggs at home at home at night.  Mr. Sefton who has been feeling better, not  so well today.  Gobed 9.30  Phone t/E McAM got with Emmett 5 P.

Most clear. E.1.  Alfred came working an hour or so.  He and Tue sort over picked pears.  He takes ashes out.  Warren Decker calls and reports everything all right at the ranch.  Ike Rogers has sold his B. Corn.  Delivery  today and Monday.  Warren helping W. says will clear off and plow  ranch ground.  Saw F. Cattingham.  Still think had better run the WC sewer outside house.  Buy pint Acme enamel for WC at Thos. Briggs., Cr. as the others were.  Talk with Johnny Handley he goes with bales.  Order bale hay of I.B.M.  Tue and Muggs up town till late.  Clear day with light easterly winds.  Self poorly.  Go bed 9.30

Clear,  N.1.  Light white frost.  Mort began tearing out S.W. porch 8.30 A  He worked AM at tearing out after dinner I order lot of stuff from B.P. A&Co for WC. but it didn't come till toward night.  Mort quit 4.30 P.M.  Tue went calling with Helen P.M. and over at  Groves at night.  Self not satisfied with way repairs are going to work out and think will have to change program a little.  Tue sells two bushels pears to I.B.M.  I kept mare at home turning in pasture as usual.  Self feeling worse than usual all round.  Clear day with light S.W. wind.  Gobed 8 weather over

The Weather etc. for Sept. 1912.  Mean daily temperature 67.9  Max. 94 on 3d.  .18 on 14th  1.68 on 17th .08 on 21st, .72 on 22d and only trace on the other days.  Clouds 27%.  Direction and duration of winds during the month have been North 3 2/3.  NE 1 1/3, East, 1.  Southeast 4. South 9 2/3  Southwest 5 2/3, West 2. and NW 2 1/3 days  The roads have been good except some muddy about  18th  all steams are running more than usual at this season.  One light frost on 30th  Weeds and all vegetation have made a great growth.  New clover is best for years  There has been little complaint of a poor catch  I sowed about 62 acres with oats.  There is not an acre of the whole missing corn stands up straight and even late pieces are ripening.  The frost on 30 touched the corn but little else.  Trees mostly retain their green leaves.  There are no fungi in woods non have them been many the season. Have had a few campestries from barn.  The fruit crop is light but of fair quality.  Have noted none pecked as yet.
