December 11, 1912 & 1887 in Coles County, IL

1912

11.  Wednesday.  11.  6 A.M.  Ther.  26.  28.  18.  =  24
Mostly clear. N.W.3.  Rhoda came early to wash.  Preston brings return 1X4-10 to Andrews and brings me 8 bales of Timothy and 1 bale straw and two  bu oats from Harman and two bush corn from own crib.  Will take out load  8 in tile for west branch.  Sent jag line (2d lot) to Wests  ph. J.E.M. for same which got P.M. per Wentz (paid).  Tue went over to Mrs. Curds in afternoon and perhaps to Hat's~~  I look over M. W Co catalogue (sic) but did not get order finished.  Mostly clear day with brisk N.W. winds freezing all day.  I did not hitch up nor go up town.  We were alone at night.  Gobed 9.30

11.  Sunday.  7 AM.  Ther.  35.  38.  33.
Cloudy, wind N.W.  Maggie and Phebe went over to Perrills after Sunday School.  Mrs. Perrill is sick in bed.  Tue went over toward night.  I itemized JOWs a/c today.  Went up town at night.  Morderal says Jimmy Robinson was arrested for being intox  last night and on his complaint F. M Gurty was fined $75.00 for  selling liquor without  license.  Dark cloudy day wind N.W. growing colder some snow  flying toward night.   Maggie and Phebe up at Davis a while at night.  gobed 9 PM
