2      Monday,   5.30 A.M.  Ther.  70.  92.  80.  = 80 2/3
Clear.  Emmett came 7.  We set him to mowing yard., which he finished 2 P.M.  and worked at clearing up furnace room most of P.M.  broke pipe.  Picked apples in bottom later 2 bushels:  will come in morn.   Mrs. Grove over P.M.  Tue ironed an hour or two.  I drove  up town AM.  Got letter from Kate with two dollars for Frank which I took over to  him AM.  The authorities released them last Friday.  Stella was to be married last Saturday one of our  most oppressive days.  My rheumatism and the heat has held me down pretty close.  Go bed  8.15
