Mostly clear SW.2. After breakfast Muggs and I drive to timber east to look for mushrooms. But for few fungi of any kind showing. It is too hot for them. We did not stay long, getting home 10.30 AM. This proved to be one of the hottest days. My rheumatism worse than ever and I kept pretty quiet till near night when take drive SW to cool off. Tue and Marie went to see Agnes Briggs who is here from Miss. for short visit. Partly clear day Threatened thunder showers 2 P.M. no rain here and but little anywhere in sight. Some muddy dirt roads. gravel good. They are putting in water mains to city limit W. on Polk St. Gobed 9.30 PM Take mare to Nickles.
19 Monday. 5.30 AM. Ther. 74. 92. 80. = 82.
Part clear. SW.2. Fred Cottingham looks over furnace and will put it up this P.M. (which he didn't.) I drove down to Harvey's getting the "push nipples" which he had cleaned up. Thunder PM. but no rain here. I drove up to P.O. late P.M. and took mare to Nickles at dark. Mort and Kate over while at night. I didn't meet them. Skinner called to see Buddy P.M. Maggie took ride with friends taking Charles. This is one of hot days. Mostly clear, lightning N. at night. Gobed 8.30

Cloudy S.W. Heavy thundershowers after midnight Rain here about 2 A.M. (1.35). Cottinghams men came AM to work at furnace They came about 9 and work till 5 P.M. getting mostly done. Will get two or three new pieces for grate an frame for main door. Alfred worked a while mowing. It has got too high light rain about noon (02) Part cloudy day westerly winds I felt poorly day: I think rheumatics getting worse. Tue phoning Irene + us and suspect a function for tomorrow. This is first day of County Fair. I took mare up to Nickles. Gobed 9.30.
21. Wednesday, 6 AM. Ther. 70. 86. 72. = 76
Cloudy. W.1. I drive S.W. getting home before noon. Tue's company all came Helen with George. Louise with Virginia and Dora with Hildreth. Diner at 1 P.M. Helen and Geo. stay to supper. The others left on 5 car. I met Al Latta on W. Polk St. has rented farm to Albert Cottingham. I found roads quite muddy. Streams high and muddy. Tue and Buddy with Helen call on Hat after supper. Helen stays and goes to show later. Mostly cloudy AM but clears off westerly brisk wind. My rheumatiz no worse today. Take mare to Nickles at night. Gobed 9.30 P & P call at night They have not been out to Loxa this week.
