August 10, 1912 in Charleston, IL OOps that was July!

10.   Wednesday.  5.30 AM.  Ther.  70.  84.  70,  = 74 2/3
Mostly cloudy S.2.  Mare had foot fast in wire fence for the third time.  I went Brown's for shave (pd) after breakfast at 8 AM.  Thunder storm(.43) held meat shop for an hour.I did not hitch till after dinner.  Jack Hurst reports big wind today at his place.  Talk Bill Decker.  Think can get culled ties cheap of Threlkald.  I drove E. to timber.  Thunder NS sent me home before ready.  Jack did not go with me.  Much cloudy today and threatening all day.  Heavy storm 6 P.M. and after.  The thunder and lightening were great.  It continued for over an hour.  2.10 inches.  this is the biggest we have had in for several years.  Took mare to Nickles after storm first time since settle.  The branch was well up and trolly(sic) line shut down.  Our electric light was nix all evening  gobed 9 P.M.
