Mostly cloudy S.E>2. Tue did not get out till 7 AM. Tue ironing. She persists in doing this herself or with Phebe's help. I drove uptown and watch work on The Soldier's Monument a while. They are about to lift the statue in place. Meet Geo. Heistand He has recently renewed insurance on Loxa House. There was good rain N. yest. but little at Loxa. Get Emmett to come after dinner. Mows yard, hoes garden. Kate came A.M. but left before night. Will return later. Somewhat sultry day with thunder and sprinkles of rain. at times. What looked like heavy showers around us, very little here. Strong lightening S. and S.W. at night sp. 2. after midnight. Gobed 10 P.M.

H.G. down to see about lumber. Send check for $100 to B. Boyce. Write letter for Tue sending 20c. Worms begin to die again, too hot. Gobed 9 P.M.~
