Clear S.S.W.2.  Emmett did not come as promised and I tried to find him, but didn't.  The abscess in upper  mouth relieved me by breaking.  Tue letter from Phebe that will be home yest or today.  She didn't come.  Tue over at Bells P.M. hair clean.  Retha Gaines called between 4 &5.  Gus brought us some butter and milk.  Tue went to Groves after supper.  Mrs. G improving  under rubbing process.  Caught rat no. 8 P.M.  Think pretty nearly exterminated on place.  Clear day just like last four.  Southerly  wind.  I felt better today.  Go bed 10.

About clear.  Thunder shower with sprinkle about noon.  Took baby carriage up to Fatty's to get repaired.  Mr. Young came with his boys and spread straw on berry patch.  Put row of potatoes between rows.  Says he will mow yard soon as he feels well enough.  Talk with Mort Cormer in afternoon.  Have decided to let him go down  there with his mill he to give me one fourth  the gross proceeds for all lumber sold.  Sam Leitch gives me poor encouragement about city bill.  Gobed 10 P.M.  Noticed first fire flies.
