100 Years Ago

Saturday, May 11, 1912 - 5.30 AM.  Ther 64, 78,62 =68Cloudy S.3.  the rain in night amounted to .40 in.  This is serious for the field-meet here today.  A great day was anticipated.  Emmett came working till noon.  Paid to date 1.50 ch.  He left mower at  McNeals going with me to Interurban for package yest.  Tue puts wire in WK screen door.  This was to have been a big day for Charleston with lots of visitors from all over state, but threatening much with light rain at times and thunder.  The cars seem to be doing good but  country people not numerous as ordinary Saturday.  I put on "new" suit  in full this AM.  have had it for year or two,  T &E went up town at night.  Go bed 9 P.M.

125 Years Ago

Wednesday  7 A.M.  Ther. 68, 85, 64  Clear.  About 1200 hatched out this morning.  Open the store a while in the morning for air.  Went down to Snider's after dinner to to take some beer.  Got can of buttermilk and two dozen eggs.  Got Mr. Young in afternoon to help about the carpets.  Tue and Delia cleaning house.  Mr. Russell drummer in town.  Baby had bad time about supper time and after.  Started Father for the Doctor but she got better and was called him.  Took Young home about 5 P.M.  Light shower came up from E. toward night.  Go bed 10 PM
