Cloudy and light rain with thunder. Wind E.3. Rain continues till nearly noon 1.80 in. Ellen went up for paper in rain. Much thunder. Branch up.* Tue cooks her old hen for din sending some over to Mrs. Grove. Tue went to Halems on 2 car returning at 7 P.M. Louise is visiting there Shave late P.M. after locking all doors. Tue left her specs at Halems. Emmett phones and I tell him to lay off tomorrow. Mostly cloudy day, sunshine a moment P.M. sprinkles rain at times P.M. One Sexton called AM wanting some old lumber for wood; didn't get it. Tue home 7 car gobed 10 PM

Thursday, April 28, 1887 7 A.M. Ther. 58, 70, 55 Clear with strong west wind. Young came to work, but ground too wet. Agrees to come in P.M. but didn't, Took Tue and Phebe down to Hat in morning and then went out to Trowers woods to look for mushrooms but didn't get any. Tom Knock says it is too early. Drove round with fatty awhile then drove folks home. The fellows indicted for speculating in votes are now about to have their trial. Pleasant day with strong N.W. wind drying ground very fast. Go bed 10.30
