July 19, 1892 and 1903 in Coles County, IL

July 1892

19.  Tuesday.  530 AM.  Ther  72,  94,  76,
Windy clear.  S.W. start for ranch with grub for Johnny [can't read last name] at 7.45  Very oppressive roads somewhat muddy three or four miles south  they had heavy rain at 2 this morning  I got back 1 P.M.  Took Tues mare, she got pretty tired, had to walk most of the way.  Return the Mrs. Maitice jar and pay her for butter 1.10  got week before last.  This about warmest day we have had.  Corn needs rain badly  Gobed 11 P.M.

19.  Sunday.  6.30 AM.  ther  60  80  65  =  68 1/3
Clear NW wind 3.  I read till 10 AM.  Kate sent Stella up asking me to take  Grandpaw Catlin down there which I did  They are having a family reunion there today.  Emmett Bloch there.  I drove up to Dice woods looking for fungi.  Saw nothing but Laxtarius piperitus .  Nothing in the fair ground.  I intended to going to to ranch but got up too late.  I got plates of Autoin Beruner yesterday but they were no good tried to print and tone some from there today but couldn't.  Drove with Tue at night S and E, of town.  Mostly clear day with westerly wind 3.  Gobed  9.30 P.M.
