Part cloudy wind N.W. Stay at store Nick still sick very sultry and oppressive Got some mushrooms of cross Half bushel They are more plentiful than I ever saw everywhere. Go bed 10 30

Cloudy W or SW wind stay at the store most of the day, and gobed 10 30 PM~ Frank McCraveys baby died yesterday

Cloudy and raining. Very heavy rains before day beginning say 1 AM or 2 AM. with thunder very heavy at times. I did not get up as usual this morning. Tue feeling much better and made the fires. Think tobacco and whisky are holding me down Wrote to Aunt Maria in afternoon. Tom Walters mends my spectacles. Drive out to Dice's Woods. Find hundreds of my favorite wood Psalliota gone to waste only two or three small ones fit to use, There must have fine lot of them about last Saturday. Many other kinds seem to be starting. The rain stopped about 9 AM. Cloudy day with southerly wind. Roads pretty muddy. Gobed 1030 PM . . . .

Mostly cloudy but soon cleared off. I drive up to Dice woods finding several spicies mushrooms but none of my favorite. Get very large Polyporus gigantius ? Look at some fungi in Dr Pattons stable and pronounce there A. anvensis Saw C. Talbott AM. He will not start on western trip till next week. I drove down near Mt. Zion finding several species which had not seen for years and two or three new ones. The unknown Psalliota is appearing in many places where never saw it. Mostly clear day roads mostly dry and rough. Tue working hard most of day and seems nearly as well as she usually is Gobed 8 30 P.M.
