August 1889

31.  Saturday, 6.30 AM  Ther  68.  94.  75  =  79
Mostly clear easterly wind  Warm day and some cloudy  Drake brings load of wood on yard.  I quit using tobacco last night and feel badly today trade medicine  Tue not very well.  Sold small load of posts to Charley Bond 7 ft @ 6 1/2  31  Snider says will haul a couple loads  of wood for me next week.  Hot night  gobed  10.30 PM.

September 1889

1.  Sunday.  6.30  AM.  Ther   72.  90.  74.  =  78 2/3
Part cloudy Thunder with light shower in night  Father and self start for timber at 9 AM  Find Milt working in well.  Warm day, mostly cloudy light sprinkles rain at times  Road a little muddy coming home in places.  Mostly dusty however.  We got home about 6 PM.  Gobed 9 PM

2.   Monday.  630 AM.  Ther.  76.  88,  72.  =  78
Cloudy.  S.W. wind  Milt brought up load of wood on yard.  Tue sent Maggie in morning to tell Mrs. Rogers not to wash till Wednesday.  Two drummers in town one cigar and one liquor.  Thunder in afternoon.  Light rain, barely laying dust.  Trade only moderate for Monday.  Gobed 11 PM

3.  Tuesday  630 AM.  Ther  74.  85.  72.  =  77
Mostly cloudy.  Maggie birthday.  she is eleven years old.   Milt brought up wood put it on yard.  Hensch and  other drummers in town they have been very numerous this week.   Rain south at night.  Gobed 9.30
