Cloudy, S.E.1. Light snow 7 AM for hour or two. Rene called about noon. She is witness in in the Harvey Ball trial. She went home 3.30 car. The trial was postponed. Ora Webb is going to leave us tomorrow. So chilly I did not go out. It snowed until say 10 AM say 1/2 in. Cleared off and fine P.M. and night. Phebe and Ora went to Ferris at night. Most of snow melts Gobed 9P.
23. Friday. 6.30. AM. Ther. 44. 58. 54. = 52.
Clear. Smoky. S.4. There was strong smoke 3 A.M. which got us up thinking it was in house. I got mare AM: drive up town. Get Booth bal at bank. up to date. Bal today 24 7.55 Felix Johnston still sick in bed. A. Alexander says will have garden seeds sent to me ~Late P.M. drive down to BPa&Co. Had talked with Jackson in Shed. Pay him a 100.00 check on a/c leaving balance 68.44. Later Phebe gets change for me meeting me at State BK, cor. She with Ora go to Ferns for the night. Charley S. did chores and I drive home with him. They now live S. of store on C. Street. Returning leave mare with Nickles. She has been here continuously here about a month. Met Warren uptown AM. says roads good and no forest fires, too wet down that way. They have not got their W.O. tree I gave them last summer out yet. Mostly cloudy day with high southerly wind. Smoky light rain 5 P.M. and later showers in night. 9.20

Cloudy.N.4. Some wind in night; in all .33 see 23rd. Weather Bureau predict cold wave for tonight, Papers are talking about war with Japan. Phebe gets home about noon. Ora is staying at Ruth Stodderts (Johnston): is going home Monday to Oreana, Ill ate an Egg for dinner and got results before bedtime. Did not go up town Cloudy with strong N. wind moderating P.M. Tue mapped the hitch later she went up town for grub and down to Hats. Still later she went to Grove's to; 10 P.M. Meanwhile Jack puked near SE door and I repaired same. Phebe was out with Fern till late. She got for me at at library two books on homemade furniture, which can't get much out of. The papers (forecasts) cold wave. There were many in town. Learn that Elks have bought Dr. Walker house SW 4 & VB Sts. [later they didn't buy it.] I not feeling pretty well work on chicken board puzzle at night. Gobed 9.30

Cloudy, 6.2. Ice 1/4 in. Tue did not appear until about 9 AM. She went to church however, getting Sunday paper. Self shave. It was a job, having run since 13 inst. My razors are balky. We had dinner about 2 P.M. Francis with her baby called and later she with Phebe went out not returning. Tue did not attend church at night. Light rain or mist after dark. Cloudy day easterly to southerly light winds inclining to fog at night. Gobed 9.30 P.

Cloudy, foggy.S.2. Tue and Phebe are preparing to visit Buddy in near future. Wish self felt able to take the trip. They are packing up her bed stead today and Gus brought us some butter and Eggs. Phebe may also go out to Jeff. Cy. to see Muggs. Frances and friends call P.M. Charles Smith came and did chores and will return Wednesday P.M. Tue and Phebe went up to the picture show at Court House. I start in reading W.G's war letters after which will give same to him. Some of them almost illegible from water and age. Mostly cloudy day Strong southerly wind. Gobed 10 P.M.
