November 17- 18, 1913 and 1888

1913

17.  Monday.  6.15 AM.  Ther.  38.  60.  56.
Clear.S.2.  Thick hoar frost but no ice.  Hitch AM driving down to Miller's.  Saw boy:  his father not home yet.  The dirt roads not so muddy as expected.  Mrs. Curd and Mrs. Brooks spend P.M. with Tue.  We did not get any dinner.  I took some B & M.   I felt very downsy (sic) all day and did not drive any  more.  Bells folks are no better.  Fun day:  Clear till toward night.  Tue Grove's at night.  Gob 9.30

18.  Tuesday.  6 AM.  Ther.  54.  68.  60.  =  60 2/3
Part cloudy.  S.S.W.3.  Tue  writes to Phebe.  I mail the letter about noon.  Drive out as far as Decker Park.  Mushrooms seem to be starting in in garden bed.  Mr. and Mrs. Bell reported some better.  Bought Victor Opera Book at Whites AM.   Mrs. Grove called PM.  She and Tue visit Mrs. Bell.  I pile up old braces on  back lot PM.  Alfred came to chore after school.  Will come again Thursday P.M.  
Harman  phones night and wants me to come out tomorrow if possible.  Part cloudy and moderate southerly wind.  Go bed 10.

1888

17.  Saturday.  7 AM.  Ther.  24.  37.  32.  
Mostly clear, hazy.  Coldest morning so far this fall.  Buy 8 1/2 bushel apples of Nels Thomas @ 25c.  Ben Davis.  Engage 2 bush.  Lakeman sweet of Burgess.  Wrote letter to J.W. Hall Alva Fla.   Got Crass to work toward night picking up round stable paid him 25 c.  Mrs. Rogers ironed.  Cloudy most of day with easterly wind looks much like rain or snow.  Bob Brown in town.  Tell him to go ahead and sow timothy seed.  Gobed 9 AM.

18.  Sunday,    AM.  Ther.  34.  41.  36.
Cloudy E. wind about 1 1/2 inches of snow on ground. and light rain falling.  Cloudy all day snow mostly melted.  Fatty Knock fixed the cistern pump yesterday it has been out of repair for a month or two.   He also (?) on the lid to piano.Chancellors folks have been coming over for water for awhile - Father says he is going to stop it.  Damp chilly day - Tue and self both have sore throats  Baby not very well at night.  Maggie and Phebe did not go to Sunday School today.  Gobed 9 PM~
