March 13, 1913 and 1888 in Charleston, Illinois

1913

13.  Thursday.  6 AM.  Ther.  52.  66.  58.  = 58 2/3
Part cloudy, S.2.  J.H. Parker called an hour or so He has been  visiting at the water works.  Says they have the filtering  plant in full operation.  Pay L.D. Norton Lafayett collector 1912 taxes for that township.  We called at house.  Tue went to the G.R. Chambers funeral P.M.  I hitch up after dinner but did not use the mare.  Light rain rain about  3 P.M.  and much heavier later.  Tay helps unhitch.  Some quite heavy thunder about 4 P.M.  Mostly cloudy day stiff SE winds  Part  clear at night.  No rain after dark.  Tue now expects her roomers to get out  Saturday.  Ray does not do much and will let him go soon.  Finish Treasure Island.  Gobed 9.

13.  Tuesday.  6 AM.  Ther.  23.  34.  25.
Cloudy.  Wind N.E. fresh.  Half inch snow on ground cleaned off and was pleasant day.  Mrs. Rogers did not come to wash.  Will come tomorrow went up town and  got 43/4 lb. lard sent 2 gal. jar up to fill P.M. at Masons.  Emma Knock and and Fatty's wife were over in afternoon.  Have not felt well to day.  Have not yet sent order for fruit trees.  Gobed 9.30
