Note to Readers:
Last night I went through a box of Charles Gramesly's personal notes. It was amazing how much I learned about my family. I realized that by posting this journal each day, I am keeping these long gone family members alive in the hearts of those that take the time to read the entries. I will continue to post Charles Gramesly's journal entries from 100 and 125 years ago through 2013. I hope the readers of the journal will continue to stay with the story and will share it with others who might enjoy it.My new 2013 project is to organize the historic pictures, heirlooms and ephemera still in the hands of the family and add them appropriately to the story. I would like to put together a list of where all of these things are located. Perhaps those in the family who have some of the historic items might be willing to copy them and share them with me. I in turn would like to place those copies in the proper place with other papers I have and share the results with all who are interested. It would be great to create a picture index of all the heirlooms still in the family. Please let me know if you have items or stories you are willing to share.
Marie Sayre Gramesly Reasor is my Grandmother. Readers, you know her as "Baby" , Buddy or Marie. Grandma was the keeper of the family history. She and I explored many of the family items of which she was the care taker. I feel I too have become a keeper along with other family members. Together, we have a great responsibility as a family to preserve our past and share it with future generations. We are fortunate to have so many family items that have been carefully preserved by those who came before us.
Journal readers, thank you for the company as I have explored the family history . . . .
