November 29, 1912 & 1887 in Charleston, IL

1912

29.  Friday.  6.30 A.M.  Ther.  32.  54.  34.  = 40.
Clear. S.W. 2.  Ice 3/8.  Tue will work with new cleaner till sick.  H.G. was down brought us a rabbit &c.  Harman called.  Has finished shucking and has mailed checks for all elevator corn, also  Neal Farm.  Get checks at P.O. 2= 102.96 which dep. at 2nd.  Get shave Brown. Pd.  Roller Hutch there.  Buy two coal buckets Charley Grims 45c Pd.  Tue went to R.C. P.M.  I hitch up late driving up town.  Gave Nickles Bros. check 18.00 in settle feed bill.  Get feed or two of corn at Mitchells.  Clear day moderate S.S.W. wind becoming westerly Roads and streets are dusty.  Gobed 9.


1887

29 Tuesday.  5.30 A.M. ther.  15,  35.  28.
Clear.  Bought pair rubber boots at Thulkold and Stodeterts. 2.50 each.  Comer and gang were up P.M.  The city gives order for 5,000 feet lumber.   Wright  prepares to buy another Bar load apples, but I don't care to.  Bert was down to dinner.  Find one of my own counters.  The old  bar counter and one  of the the short MCarty  counters  are both in Zay Johnston room formaly (sic.) occupied by M. Dwyer.  Phebe took what was supposed to be croup and kept me awake till about 3 A.M.  Tue went to bed at 11 oc.  Has been clear with S. wind.  Gobed 1 AM.  Mrs. Rodgers washed.
