November 24-25, 1912 and 1887 in Charleston, IL

1912

24. Sunday N.W.4. Snow flying.  There was ice but tub was empty.  say 1/4 in.  Tue went to church AM. and baked bread PM first time in her new stove, is well satisfied with it.  Ellen Elkins called about noon staying to dinner.  She left 3.45 car for Loxa.  She lives at  Emil's N. of Loxa.  Cloudy day snow flying much of A.M.  I didn't hitch up.  Tue writing Phebe at night.  My finger better but will lose nail. 9  Very  high N.W. wind all day diminishing later.

25.  Monday.  6 A.M.  Th.  28.  44.  38.  = 36 2/3
Clear. N.W.2. TWP. Ph same* Ice 1/8 in.  Mrs. west called A.M. and needs another sack plaster, also fence.  I  hitch up 10 AM and drive to Interurban station but fail to get it.  Deposit check for corn 331.01 at Second.  Get new bank book.  They give me new check book which I don't like.    Get shave 4 P.M.  Alfred came and chored a while.  Tue went up for grub at 5 oc.  Gobed 8.15

*I believe TWP means= Tue writes Phebe and Ph same =Phone same (Phebe)
