Clear. SE. 1. I suffer from heat about as usual but the air not so oppressive. I harness mare. Met Bill Scott AM. Says will try to sell Mrs. Sexton fence for her part. Leone and Helen with John call P.M. Resse came in with her Helen to start her at the Normal which begins today. She will live at the Dormitory. I took short drive after supper west part of town. Seemed to be busy day in Charleston. There was big show at opera House at night. Clear day light S.E. wind 8.30
