Part Cloudy, S.E.1 Plew called for piece of lumber - helps me hitch up. I lost my halter yesterday. Hunt for McNeel an hour AM. without finding him. Thunder showers around much of AM light shower 9 to 10 AM. I feel very unhealthy today one of the hottest days. I keep pretty quiet till toward night when drive S. to Normal and later E on Westfield road returning N. road. The city is putting in water main on Lincoln Ave. leaving main line on Osgood place E. of Lincoln. I met McNeel at shop 6 P.M. Says will put in furnace tomorrow if can get help. No word from Tue today. No letter from girls. So hot Phebe did not have supper. Gobed10. 10.

Clear. Wind N.E. on N. Clear all day no signs of rain. Buy 2 undershirts at McCravy's 2.00, Hat at Winters 1.75. Tue finishes ironing. Comer and mill hands in town. Big crowd in town. Meet Bice Dowson but doesn't pay me. Fred Weber pays 3.50 on a/c. Take medicine at night. Gobed 10.15
