Clear, S.. Old mare shows contact with barbed wire with deep scratch twelve inches long on rump. Dr. it with spavin cure at once. Things seem somewhat demoralized out in barnyard. Think stray horse has been around at night. Tue complaining gooddeal (sic.). Think the hot weather. Part cloudy with showers around. . Just sprinkle here. Not many in for Sat. Harve McNeel said would tighten up my furnace, but he didn't. I try to find Ike Rogers but couldn't. I drove SW late P.M. finding no fungi. Go bed 10 P.M.

Wednesday, July 6, 1887 6.30 A.M. Ther. 73. 90. 76. Clear. Got John Hall and cul 317 ft. out of cull on City yard and will haul the rest to my own yard. Noble gives me bill for 1500 ft. township lumber. Mrs. Laind irons. Collect $6.20 Scherer a/c. Kate Davis over most of P.M. Funkhouser of Neoga called at night to see about Timber. Fan and Snider in awhile at night. Wind N.E. P.M. signs of rain during day. Thunder west at night but didn't rain any. Buy cheese .15 and butter .40 all cr. Gobed 10 P.M.
