Clear mostly S.1.  Parker came 9 A and worked most of day repairing back porch.  Paid in full ck 1.75.  Plew was here much  of time but only to gas.  Will employ Parker to roof barn at farm soon.  Phebe young lady friend from Clinton.  I drove S.W. toward night.  Ira Snider's daughter rode a piece with me.  Tue and girls away till bed time.  Tom Knock rode to town gave me a young squirrel  which I prepare for breakfast.  Part clear light variable winds.  Sprinkles rain at dark and after (.02)  I felt poorly all day.  Mort Grove reported some Cuting.  Gobed 9.30 P.  Mrs. Reasor called P.M.  She lives at Hindsboro.

Thursday, June 5, 1887.  6 AM.  Ther. 60. 70. 53.
Cloudy considerable rain in night.  Have big mess  mushrooms for breakfast.  Young came to set out bushes, but too wet.  Write out bonds and petitions for license, but don't suppose there is any chance.  Sign H.G.'s bond for supervisor.  Council meets at night and work late.  Tue still very sore throat.  Mostly cloudy day and growing cooler.  11 P,M,
