Catherine, saw your post through David Kent Coy. I will really enjoy reading the journal. Amazing how they wrote everyday. I am lucky to have my Aunt Annie's journals from 1900-1965. From Ashmore, then when she was married she lived just south of Charleston on 130, lrg gray farm house just south of Rex and Don. They took down the house a fews years ago. But it is amazing reading about farm life and all the happenings in Charleston.

Journals are wonderful windows to the past. I am so pleased to be able to share this journal. Your Aunt's journal must be very interesting as well.
DeleteThanks to David Kent Coy for passing on the word about the journal.

And for my reference where was the house at?
ReplyDeletethanks!
Just south of the square on 6th Street where the Elks Club now stands. The property extended to 5th street and south to the Town Branch.
